Beloved Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Known For Roles in Friends and The Middle, Has Died at the Age of Sixty.

US performer Pat Finn, who featured in iconic television series like Friends, "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has died aged 60.

The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in LA recently having undergone cancer treatment from 2022 onward, per media reports.

"Pat never met a stranger - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his family said in a message.

They added that he had "lived his life fully - with joy and exuberance".

A Notable Career on Screen

Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he played the titular character's brother.

He also had a recurring role on "Murphy Brown" between 1995 and 1997.

He played the part of the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, playing a social organizer known to delegate tedious tasks to his guests.

Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on numerous popular shows, including:

  • King of Queens
  • "Friends"
  • That '70s Show
  • House

His most famous role for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight series over nearly a decade.

His film credits include "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.

Beyond the Screen

Outside of his television work, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was involved with a six-person improv troupe called Beer Shark Mice.

"Finn taught, supported, and inspired countless students throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find a person anywhere who has a bad thing to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

In a tribute, peer Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, grounded individual you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, making those around him better and funnier. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote online.

Pat Finn is survived by his wife Donna, his three kids, and his parents and siblings.
