Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Manama, as Iran launched operations across the region in retaliation for a large-scale and ongoing attack targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity close to the main base of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any damage is not yet known and the United States has not commented.

Regional Interceptions

Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - all home to American military installations - stated they have engaged and destroyed incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.

In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the region.

IRGC Statement

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the strikes on the Islamic Republic launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.

That initial attack - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on areas associated with the the regime, with President Trump encouraging the Iranian people to revolt against the regime.

Additional Developments

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses dealt with the missiles with high efficiency and destroyed a several projectiles," the statement continued.

Officials reported wreckage fell on a neighborhood in the capital, resulting in some structural damage and fatalities.

The US Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
