Major Moscow's Assaults Eliminate Power Across Kyiv

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
Ukraine's energy systems have faced escalating strikes in the past few days

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have led to power cuts in extensive areas of the capital city, Kyiv.

Several individuals were hurt while local people in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and faced problems to water systems, according to local authorities.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a separate Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, based on information from local officials.

Moscow has increased assaults on electrical systems over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "concrete actions" from partner nations to exert influence on Russia.

"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the US, the EU and the major economies - in delivering air defence systems and implementing penalties," he wrote in a public message.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and several dozen missiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

The energy minister said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were striving to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles hit power facilities and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the attacks on the city have been taken to hospital, according to municipal representatives.

The strikes come after periods of air raids in the region, sections of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

All of Ukraine is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are more difficult to detect.

Government officials told journalists that Russia was purposely seeking to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already disrupting gas facilities.

He said energy workers and authorities were anticipating further attacks.
