Soccer Analyst Sutton Battles Artist Murs in Top Flight Forecasts
The Gunners' 10-game winning run was ended by the Black Cats prior to the international break, but can the Premier League frontrunners recover against local foes Tottenham this weekend?
"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked soccer expert Chris Sutton.
"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still manage to win."
The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, against AI, fans and a variety of guests.
For the twelfth round, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.
The singer's new record, Knees Up, is out on the weekend.
Soccer and Family Life
Murs is a skilled soccer player as well as a successful singer and has been a featured player of multiple Soccer Aid matches over time - but he is not planning a professional return as a footballer.
"{I recently played in a benefit game the other night for a mate of mine," he said. "My team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!
"I still love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it properly again.
"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or boy chooses to play instead."
Murs and his wife his partner have two children, their daughter and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their manager.
"I will not push football on our children but I've already told my wife that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be coaching their weekend football team," he said.
"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously was involved with a football club for a period too.
"My dad coached with us when I was a child, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our team for several years and had great fun with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Premier League Predictions
Saturday, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea may have to be patient for their star's comeback from fitness issues but their offense is now more potent with Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.
I still think this fixture will be quite close, however. The Clarets are well organised and their only home losses so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.
This suggests a one-all draw to me, but I am actually going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third league win in a row.
The expert's prediction: 1-2
Olly's pick: The Blues will be superior. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have lost their previous couple matches - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.
In contrast, West Ham won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at home, they appear strong again.
West Ham's sole away victory this season came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno was still that team's manager.
Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - will it be West Ham continuing their run under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?
I will choose the Cherries, because I think what occurred against Aston Villa was a blip.
Sutton's forecast: 2-0
The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2
The algorithm's prediction: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were considered one of the favourites for the drop before the season began, but they have surprised a few people under their manager and are in good form with three in their past four games.
My son advised me to select Bees striker Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks back and, guess what, I ignored the advice.
Thiago will probably find the net again on the weekend but I am still not going to pick him or back the away side at Amex Stadium.
They have not had much success on the travel this season, and Brighton are always decent at home. Brentford will attempt to attack on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a threat.
The analyst's prediction: 2-1
Olly's view: This could be a match where you expect there is going to be a lot of goals but it actually proves to be rather close. 1-1
The computer's prediction: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a huge fixture for Fulham, who have lost five of their past six matches.
They have have plenty of talent in their team but it nonetheless feels like they could be dragged into a relegation battle.
As for Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the Premier League season so far.
Their display in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We've not seen any other team rough up the Gunners like that this season, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.
The logical choice would be to back the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the end of last month.
But I am not choose that. Instead, I truly need to carry on going against the away team with my predictions. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their positive results because they clearly love to defy my predictions.
Looking at Fulham's at Craven Cottage form, the only side they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.
The expert's prediction: 1-0
The guest's choice: I know the visitors are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a bad streak... but they have nonetheless been decent at home this campaign. 2-0
The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

This is a hard one to call. Liverpool have suffered seven of their past 10 games in all competitions, but could they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
