The Streaming Giant Casts Perfect Performer for Bentham in One Piece Upcoming Installment
Baroque Works is set to play a huge role in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, though the real showdown isn’t set to occur until the third season, and a beloved, fan-favorite member has now been chosen.
The platform declared recently that the skilled actor will appear in the One Piece upcoming season’s lineup and will embody Bentham. The role possesses the power to change into an identical duplicate of anyone they’ve laid a hand on with their main hand. Escola, who is non-binary and goes by they/them, will portray a interpretation of that role reinterpreted as non-binary, as opposed to as a drag artist, in the live-action show, differing from the initial comic and cartoon version.
The new cast member joins several other fresh additions who will portray the organization to the screen, including leader Sir Crocodile, brought to life by the well-known actor, Sophia Anne Caruso as another operative, and a familiar face, who will appear as the ensemble as the monarch of Alabasta.
Though this character is a important part of the organization, the persona won’t appear until One Piece season 3. Considering season 2 set to cover the Little Garden arc, this represents a notable change in the timing of their first appearance, one that could indicate further changes to the narrative framework.
Escola’s blend of precise humor and emotional depth makes them a standout choice for the character. Along with their current animated role in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they earned widespread acclaim and numerous honors for penning and acting in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, highlighting the versatility they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s highly regarded roles.
Netflix's live-action One Piece series is scheduled to come back for its next installment on the tenth of March, 2026.
