Around 25,000 residences in southeastern Queensland woke up lacking electricity on Monday morning after intense storm systems swept through the state, producing powerful gusts topping over 100 km/h.

Locals witnessed substantial frozen pellets measuring up to 7cm in some areas. The Bureau of Meteorology verified that different parts across Queensland had been impacted by substantial ice precipitation.

Damp conditions were predicted to continue along significant areas of the state's eastern regions this next several days as a low-pressure trough continued to pull in damp air against the shoreline.
