Ways the Denver Broncos together with the malleable quarterback can stop that Kansas City Chiefs' dominance.

Week six of the 2025 NFL season
Live coverage includes live text of Sunday's games via multiple platforms, starting with Denver Broncos v New York Jets at Tottenham (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Additionally, audio coverage can be heard on select stations for another key matchup (beginning at 9 PM BST).
We're in the sixth week in the NFL season , following recent discussion about the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles being possible championship contenders, they both surrendered their perfect starts.
Striking during those contests were the amount of infractions each conceded. The Eagles committed them in key moments meaning they kind of beat themselves after leading by two touchdowns going into the final quarter versus Denver, set to play overseas this Sunday.
However it was positive to observe that Denver's QB Bo Nix was able to overcome that deficit and then lead three successful possessions on three possessions in the fourth quarter, to win the game by four points.
Denver boast the top defender in cornerback their star corner. They rank number one in goal-line defense, while Philadelphia are number one in red zone offence, yet the Broncos prevailed in that battle.
They had the Eagles' number in terms of disguised blitzes. They did not necessarily rushing extra pass rushers instead they could plug two linebackers in the 'A' gap before drop them out and send a slot defender from the outside.
Early on in the campaign, it was noted during a show that the Broncos might emerge as the current year's dark horses. They ended last season strongly then did a good job in continuing that momentum.
Could Denver be this season's underdog story?
New TE their tight end has stepped up big and new running back their rusher is a guy they believe in. He now ranks 5th league-wide in ground gains (over 400) as well as tied for fourth for rushing touchdowns (4).
It's impressive how the coach the Broncos' leader has "RUSH!" prominently on his call sheet.
That shows that Denver represent a squad aiming to prioritize the run, because one can do a lot based on that approach. It reduces down the pass rush and maintains in positive situations.
It's also benefited QB the young passer, who came the NFL as the 12th overall draft pick last year, passing for 29 TDs – just behind Justin Herbert in rookie records (31 back in 2020).
Other elite QBs have the arm strength to pass anywhere, but they don't move the mobility as Nix. He has incredible passing ability, which is different, and he's highly agile.
His strengths are his mobility, being able to pass while moving, and finding varied release points to deliver throws when he rolls out of the pocket, on rollouts. He is able to throw precision throws across the middle or over the corner.
As a rookie QB, aged 25, he displays great composure under pressure and isn't bothered by the blitz. He aims to avoid being tackled as much as possible and can throw under pressure. He possesses a high football IQ and is quick to decide.
When you constantly run the ball it eats up time and forces the opponent to be on the field extended periods, and if you have a mobile QB the defence has to cover the field downfield side to side. It can be exhausting.
Nix has bitten back with the coach on the sideline at times and it seems the coach appreciates that fire, that he's such a competitor. I think it's exciting for him to coach a young quarterback who's similar to play-dough. He can really develop him the way he wants to build it. I believe it's a unique opportunity for him.
The head coach owns a Super Bowl and has surpassed Bill Parcells for career NFL wins (173 - tied 14th overall). He's seen it all. I think the success Denver are experiencing on offence is mostly down to his leadership, his schemes, his game sense – and the pairing with Nix helps shape him into who he is.
There's no better a better guy guiding you, to help you through some of the tougher situations and boost self-belief.
I have faith in Denver's defence, in the QB's grit and calm. Yet are they good enough to face a top squad at its best? Since that was not a Super Bowl performance from Philadelphia in their last game.
Currently, I don't think the Broncos are elite. They're performing better than most, that's a solid position to hold their division. All they need to do to continue this path.
They excel at leaning into their forte, which is the ground game, and this is precisely what they should do versus the Jets in London. It will likely be the JK Dobbins show, in essence.
The Jets have allowed 140 rushing yards per game (among the worst), five rushing touchdowns so far (in the bottom ten), and they're the only team without a win a game.
Ever since the league started recording takeaways in 1933, the Jets are the inaugural squad to go without a single takeaway through five games, this is surprising considering that the head coach was previously defensive co-ordinator at the Detroit Lions.
Patrick Mahomes stated the Chiefs are off to a poor start after Monday's defeat by the Jaguars.
Following the upcoming matchup, the Broncos have a manageable slate up to their bye (in week twelve) - the Giants, the Cowboys, Houston Texans and the Raiders before the Chiefs.
Looking at their division, Kansas City hold a losing record while Denver are even with the Chargers at 3-2 meaning they could make a run for the top of the division.
This hinges on which form of the Chiefs they face because the Broncos {beat|def
